Bentley University is pleased to announce that it has maintained its accreditation by the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) for a further five years. Run by EFMD, headquartered in Brussels, EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.

“Achieving and maintaining EQUIS accreditation is truly a community accomplishment,” says Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Mike Page. “In its report to the EQUIS Awarding Body, the four member Peer Review Team that visited Bentley commented particularly on the strong commitment to Bentley by all faculty, staff, students, alumni and corporate partners.”

Bentley was first accredited by EQUIS in 2008 and is currently one of three institutions in the United States and 161 institutions worldwide to hold this prestigious accreditation. Bentley is also one of 89 institutions accredited for five years—the remaining 72 having three year accreditation status.

Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalization. The creation of EQUIS was prompted by the need to develop an accreditation system targeted to those business schools anywhere in the world that were trying to make an impact beyond their domestic frontiers. As of December 2015, 161 schools have been awarded EQUIS with 40 countries represented among the accredited schools.
