From unlimited vacation policies to an infinite number of on-demand services, many industries are rushing to adapt to the needs of the fast-paced, tech-savvy millennial generation as they make up an increasing amount of the workforce. The latest group to follow suit: the notoriously arcane healthcare industry.

With the news that retirement leader Fidelity is entering the health insurance business to simplify the experience for its customers, it’s apparent that the way we approach healthcare benefits is changing. How does the Affordable Care Act reflect the changing tides of the healthcare field?

Economics Professor Dhaval Dave has done extensive research on the Affordable Care, particularly the early provisions including the mandate that allowed children to stay on their parents’ plans until age 26.

Dave is available to provide commentary on the following topics:

  • The effects of this mandate on a variety of outcomes including labor supply, education, well-being, and time receiving medical care;
  • Why healthcare benefits need to shift to accommodate the new work force;
  • What the future of healthcare benefits will look like as millennials make up a larger sector of the work force, and how the ACA is helping to shape the future healthcare landscape.
