Welcome from the Provost

It might be said that Bentley has long been too modest - a rare quality in academic circles. This is an institution where old and new come together to inform teaching and practice in the context of a business school. And business, writ large, is exemplified by research.

Thanks to our corporate partners, this is an environment where students, faculty and senior administrative leaders collaborate with business leaders and with each other to advance the frontiers of knowledge.

Bentley has several areas of major focus in curricula and research, or strategic domains. Bentley blends information technology and business education, often in nontraditional ways. Equal attention is devoted to the arts and sciences, in courses tailored for students pursuing business and related professions. Liberal arts and business courses alike address the themes of ethics and social responsibility, thanks to faculty efforts that span more than two decades.

Scholarship in all disciplines complements the quality of teaching celebrated by our graduates. Engaging the power of technology-enhanced facilities — including the Design and Usability Center, financial Trading Room, Center for Marketing Technology, Accounting Center for Electronic Learning and Business Measurement, and the Center for Languages and International Collaboration — faculty researchers add depth and breadth to the foundation for learning that sets this institution apart at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In accordance with our mission, Bentley, through our Institutional Review Board, is committed to ensuring the safe and ethical treatment of human participants in this research.
