Interim Housing
Bentley University provides housing for the interim periods in May between the end of Spring Semester and the Summer, as well as in August between the end of Summer housing and the beginning of the Fall Semester. Cost for housing during this period is $30.00 per night. Although most students are expected to return home during this period, interim housing is provided ONLY for students with exceptional need who have obtained permission from the Residential Center.
In order to receive permission to remain in Bentley housing during these periods: you must be a summer resident, and you must have an exceptional need to stay which must be presented in writing. If you are working for Bentley University you must obtain the signature of your supervisor. Bentley University reserves the right to refuse housing to any individual as well as alter housing assignments as needed.
Interim Housing contracts are available in the Residential Center, and must be completed at least one week prior to start of the session.
Interim Storage
Bentley University provides minimum storage space ONLY to students who are residing in Bentley housing during the summer months. Bentley University reserves the right to refuse storage of any items they deem inappropriate or unsafe.
DROP-OFF
Typically there is a three day period during which students may drop items off. This schedule will be set by the Residential Center. All items must be labeled with your name and ID number. We will accept items only until the storage area is full, so it is important to arrange to bring your items to storage early. Once the rooms are full, or the deadline has been reached (whichever comes first) we will no longer be accepting items for storage. No exceptions will be made.
PICK-UP
It is very important to write down when you will be picking your items up with in the schedule set by Residential Services. This date will determine where in the rooms your items are stored. For example:
- If you will be picking up your items on the first day scheduled in the morning your items will be up front for easier access.
- If you do not pick-up your items on the date you wrote down, your items will be moved to the back of storage so that others may have access to their items, and you will have to wait until the last day to retrieve your items.
- If you will be picking your items on the last day scheduled in the afternoon, your items will be placed towards the back of the room and you will not be able to retrieve them before the date that you write on the storage contract.
It is important to remind you that storage is at the students' risk. Bentley University assumes no liability for items left in storage. Items that are left in storage after the assigned pick-up date and time will be disposed of at the discretion of the university and you may be billed for the cost of the labor involved.

Winter Break Housing
Collins Hall and Orchard North/South Apartments are used by the university to house students over Winter Break, (The time from the end of Fall Semester until the start of Spring Semester). Winter Break Housing is not included in the price of the apartment shown on the Housing Contract.
In order to be eligible for housing over the break you must be a current resident and have an exceptional need to stay. In an effort to make things easier for everyone involved, all Winter Break requests are encouraged to locate an apartment in Collins or Orchards through a current resident of either building. If the requestor does not know of anyone living in Collins or the Orchards, they will be assigned to a random space for the break.
Your phone number will be transferred to that apartment and all combinations will be changed for the break and then changed back to the original combination when the spring semester residents return.
Winter Break Housing contracts are available in the Residential Center. You can also download one by clicking here.
