Faculty Interests
The department’s faculty span many scientific disciplines including astronomy, chemistry, ecology (green biology), geology, genomics, human biology, physics, psychology, and public health. Faculty members have performed basic and applied research funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and have been involved in start-up companies in the fields of biotechnology and bioinformatics. Many faculty work as consultants with industry, and many are involved in community organizations concerned with environmental and health issues. In addition, the faculty are committed to developing innovative approaches to science education focused on the needs of business students and the business community.
