Franklyn P. Salimbene, JD, LLM
Director
As director, Franklyn is responsible for general oversight of all BSLC activities. He supervises the associate director and the assistant director of Academic Programs and receives reports from other key personnel such as the graduate in residence. The director also draws up the annual budget and takes a leadership role in establishing strategic priorities.
The director is the program’s primary representative to national service-leadership organizations, probono business associations, corporations, foundations, the state and federal government, and other institutions of higher learning.
Jeannette C. MacInnes
Associate Director
As associate director, Jeannette is responsible for supervising all Scholarship and Community Work Program (CWP) students. She designs, establishes, and monitors student/community site placements and evaluates student performance in these programs. Other duties include: Coordinator of special student events (retreats, workshops, student meetings) and BSLC office manager(coordinating all office procedures, supervising work study students, managing BSLC budgets, and all grant-related student funding).
Shawn W. Hauserman, MA
Assistant Director of Academic Programs
As assistant director of Academic Programs, Shawn is responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of Service-Learning course projects. He oversees faculty recruitment and involvement with the BSLC program and works with the director to implement program evaluation and to plan workshops for faculty and students. He also works with community agencies and nonprofit organizations to establish Service-Learning projects in the greater Boston community.
Lynne M. Johanson, BA
Administrative Assistant
As administrative assistant, Lynne is responsible for the overall efficient functioning and operation of the Service-Learning Center office. She also assists students with community site projects and is responsible for managing logistics for conferences and meetings.
Edward A. Zlotkowski, PhD
Founder and Senior Associate
As a senior fellow, Edward Zlotkowski puts more than 15 years of experience with the national service-learning/civic engagement movement at the service of the BSLC. Through his connections with national organizations and individual service-learning leaders as well as his familiarity with the service-learning literature, he can often provide suggestions and resources that help strengthen the BSLC's core functions. He can also help ensure that Bentley's program continues to be represented and recognized in influential academic engagement forums around the country.
