The Arts

The arts are an everyday business at Bentley. The Bowles Performing Arts Series offers a steady stream of events to expand the cultural horizons of the students, faculty and members of the campus community.  The Bowles playbill also includes two student productions by the theatrical honor society Alpha Psi Omega.

The Distinguished Lecture Series presents a guest speaker from the business, entertainment or literary world twice each year.

The Vitale, Caturano & Company Art Gallery is now open in the recently remodeled library.  The art gallery hosts six to eight exhibits a year, showing a wide variety approaches and styles, highlighting the work of emerging New England artists.  Opening receptions offer students, staff and faculty the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their work.

Other fine-arts student organizations include the Dance Team, which rehearses twice weekly.  With two squads, they perform regularly at campus events and have appeared at national competitions.

Jazz Band, under the direction of Ed Grammer, rehearses once a week. The Jazz Band highlights improvisation skills of every musician utilizing both classic jazz standards and contemporary tunes and perform both on and off campus.

Under the direction of Beverly Mosby, the Bentley Gospel Choir is composed of students, staff and faculty members. They appear in concert two times each year.

With roots in African culture, F.I.R.E. strives to enlighten the Bentley community and surrounding communities to the art of an African dance called Step. Step is a historic African dance which consists of a combination of clapping and stomping patterns.

The Film Club is a new organization that is currently planning its first film festival and welcomes all students interested in the art of film.
