Mobile Computing Program
At Bentley University, the pioneer among colleges and universities in mobile computing, the Mobile Computing Program integrates information technology across the entire campus, giving students the edge they need to compete for and thrive in careers in the information age. For 23 years, Bentley University has continued to set the pace for mobile computing programs. Our program provides a fully wired and wireless campus, business-class mobile computers, robust software, and seamless on-site services.
Entering students receive a notebook computer during a First Week session that familiarizes them with the computing resources available on campus. The notebook computers are exchanged for new models at the start of the third year of study, maintaining the latest technology in the students’ hands. Assuming completion of four years, the second notebook computer is a gift to the student to assist with their next endeavor.
Students at Bentley have a choice of network access across campus and in the residence halls; using wireless when on the go, and plugging in when they need higher-speed access.
With a mandatory Mobile Computing Program, Bentley is able to maintain hardware and software uniformity among all students and faculty, removing technology support from the classroom and allowing students and faculty to focus on teaching and learning.
A major component of the Mobile Computing Program is available support. Bentley provides hardware and software support for all notebook computers in the program. Support is only steps away. Loaner notebook computers are provided if a computer is ever in for repair. Additionally, every Bentley student has access to free on-campus high-speed printing.
