International Students

The application fee for international students is $75 in addition to the regular freshman requirements. Non-native speakers of English must also submit official results of the international Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination or the International English Language Testing System examination (IELTS) to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Official secondary and post-secondary academic transcripts (mark sheets) and English translations (where necessary) must include a signature and stamp or seal by the institution and should be sent directly from the academic institution to the Bentley undergraduate office. Photocopies or facsimiles are not accepted. Students requiring an F-1 student visa must also show the ability to finance their first year of education by submitting a certification of finances form signed by a bank official and by their financial sponsor (usually the parents).

International students applying from outside the U.S. may do so for the fall (September) or spring (January) terms. To apply for September freshman entry, the deadline to send both application and supporting documents is January 15. Please refer to the early application program section for our early decision and early action deadline dates. For transfer applicants applying from another university or tertiary level institution seeking entry in September, the deadline for application is April 15. Both freshman and transfer students who seek January entrance must submit applications by November 15.

Accepted non-U.S. citizen students must submit the non-refundable enrollment deposit before an I-20 document can be issued. All international students are required to purchase the student health insurance plan offered through Bentley. The only exception to this policy is if students are already enrolled in a health insurance plan through a United States-based insurance company. If this is the case, they must contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 781.891.2162 to provide proof of enrollment before the student health insurance plan offered through Bentley is waived.

Note: International students must provide detailed contact information on the application form, including mailing address, express package delivery address (for letters sent via overnight courier service), international telephone number, mobile number, e-mail address, and, where available, a fax number to help expedite applicant processing.

All documents should be sent as early as possible to ensure receipt by the admission office by the application deadline date.
