Health Studies Concentrations

You may choose to specialize your studies by pursuing one of four concentrations in biotechnology, environmental health, health policy, or health psychology.

You also may elect to customize a concentration, in consultation with a faculty adviser, that meets your specific interests.

Biotechnology Concentration

You must take the following four courses:

  • Health, Illness and Everyday Life
  • Human Inheritance
  • Innovating the Future
  • The Science and Business of Biotechnology

Environmental Health Concentration

You can select four of the following courses:

  • American Environmental History
  • Environmental Economics
  • Environmental Psychology
  • Global Health Challenges
  • Seminar in Natural and Applied Sciences
  • Special Topics in Natural and Applied Sciences
  • Water Quality

Health Policy Concentration

You can select four of the following courses:

  • Health Economics
  • Health, Illness and Everyday Life
  • Health of Nations
  • Human Relations in Health Care
  • The Science and Business of Biotechnology
  • Social Policy: The Privatization of Public Benefits

Health Psychology Concentration

You must take the following four courses:

  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Biology of Mind
  • Human Relations in Health Care
  • Psychology of Adjustment
