Associate Professor, Marketing
What do you teach?
I teach a lot of fun classes. They include Enhancing Creativity, Advertising, Marketing Communication and Promotion, and Fundamentals of Marketing.
Why do you like teaching at Bentley?
I enjoy that we have small classes, which allows me to establish real and lasting relationships with students. This also helps me to be flexible in the classroom and experiment, so I can be sure that students are really learning.
What is your teaching style?
I love being a professor, so I’m pretty enthusiastic in the classroom — I’ve even been known to jump on my desk on occasion! Ultimately, my goal is to challenge students, encourage them to think outside the box and look beyond the obvious answer. And, class is always lively when you discuss what’s relevant to real life, so I try to do that as often as I can.
What advice would you offer a new Bentley student?
It’s difficult for many students at age 17 or 18 to know what career they might want in the future, and you should understand that your school or major won’t completely limit your options. I have students who got a business degree but went on to become graphic designers, teachers, and even a sommelier (wine expert). College is simply a way of starting out and getting your feet wet.
