FAQs

Visiting Campus

Do I need to schedule an appointment for a visit?
We highly encourage students to schedule an appointment for a tour or information session, as it allows us to best prepare for the size of the group, and secure appropriate numbers of tour guides. You can schedule an appointment using our appointment calendar. If you require additional assistance, please contact the Office of Admission either by phone at 781.891.2244 or via e-mail at ugavisits@bentley.edu.

What goes on during an information session?
Information sessions are led by Bentley admission officers and provide you and your family with an in-depth presentation on the Bentley admission and financial aid processes. During this session, you will also learn more about the academic and extra-curricular offerings at the college and have a chance to ask your questions. A student-guided tour of the campus is included.

I've already been on campus to visit a friend. Do I still need to stop in the Office of Admission?
Yes! We highly encourage you to visit the Office of Admission to let us know you've been on campus, and are considering Bentley. Ideally, we would also persuade you to enjoy a campus tour with a Bentley Student Ambassador — while your friend may be able to give you a snapshot of life on campus, our Ambassadors can likely provide a broader view of all the offerings available at Bentley.

Are interviews required? Are they recommended?
Interviews are not required, but they are recommended. The one-on-one experience meeting with an admission representative provides you with the chance to speak candidly about your interest in Bentley and talk openly about your academic and extracurricular achievements. If you've had any “bumps in the road” during your high school years, whether academically or personally, an interview is highly recommended. We truly want to learn about you. Students typically interview in the spring of their junior year, during the summer between junior and senior year, or in the fall of their senior year. Transfer students can also schedule an interview if they are interested. Please visit our appointment calendar to find a time that works for you. If you require additional assistance, call the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 781.891.2244 or e-mail us at ugavisits@bentley.edu.

What if I can't make it to campus? Are there opportunities available for phone interviews or alumni interviews in my area?
Bentley admission officers are happy to provide phone interviews to prospective students who are unable to make the trip to campus. In addition, during the fall recruiting season our counselors will be traveling across the country (and the world!) visiting high schools and hosting information sessions. If you are interested in having a counselor interview you in your area, please call our office and we'll let you know if we're headed your way.

Is the Office of Admission open on the weekends?
Our office is open on selected Saturdays in the fall. Please check the appointment calendar for availability.

Are overnight visits possible?
Bentley does not sponsor overnight visits for prospective students. If you have a friend from home who is a student on campus, you are certainly welcome to stay with them and visit the Office of Admission for a formal tour or information session.

Are you close enough to other colleges, so I could visit two schools in one day?
Most definitely. There are dozens of colleges in the greater Boston area and we can provide driving directions to several that are nearby.  Keep in mind that while you could navigate several local campuses in one day, you don’t want to rush through your visiting experiences. To keep schools fresh in your mind, visit no more than two in a day, and take advantage of the opportunity to really explore each campus.
