Trading Room

One of only a handful of such facilities nationwide, the Trading Room brings world financial markets to Bentley's campus. The facility combines state-of-the-art technology and real-time data to offer a firsthand look at the intricacies of risk management, asset valuation and other financial concepts.

Degree candidates in finance and global financial analysis are primary users, though students studying other business disciplines also take advantage of the facility. Orientation sessions introduce freshmen and entering graduate students to Trading Room resources such as Reuters 2000 and 3000 products, Market Guide, and Bloomberg.

For the corporate community, the Trading Room provides employee training in areas such as trading, back-office functions, marketing and technology. Executives at a growing number of Boston-area companies, including John Hancock Financial Services and ArrowPoint Communications, have used the Trading Room as home base for tracking an IPO when their respective companies went public.

"Other schools, and even top Ivy League schools, don't have the technological infrastructure that Bentley has. To have what we have on this campus - the Trading Room and specialized labs - Bentley puts us a step ahead in terms of moving into the future, into the next age."
