User Experience Boot Camp
March 9 to 13, 2009
The marketplace for technology products and services continues to evolve and the competitive landscape grows increasingly complex. To meet these challenges, those who design technology or technology based services must adopt new strategies for identifying market needs and how they integrate this research in their design and development process. Building on our twenty-year tradition of delivering leading-edge human factors, information design and usability programs, Bentley University is pleased to announce our 2009 User Experience Boot Camp. The UX Boot Camp will preserve the very best of our Usability Boot Camp, while modifying the curriculum to reflect emerging market conditions and employer demands.
The program is designed to accommodate a diverse range of participants including industrial designers, user analysts, UI designers, usability specialists, and hardware-software-web developers.
The program highlights the growing importance of the user experience as a strategic business advantage and a point of differentiation in mature or hypercompetitive markets. As a leading business university, Bentley is uniquely positioned to deliver this perspective in a thoughtful and challenging learning experience. The five-day program is organized around five themes:
- Elements of the user experience
- User research and market segmentation
- Design Implementation and innovation
- Assessment and measurement
- Process improvement and success metrics.
The User Experience Boot Camp offers a powerful combination of presentations by leading authorities, expert panel, and applied workshops. As a participant, you will experience the complete design lifecycle by carrying a design problem from research through design to validation. Participants are organized in teams, and design problems are chosen to test and deepen your understanding of the topics. Continental breakfast and lunch are included in each day, which runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
