Teaching and Learning Initiative

The Wilder Teaching Professorships were established with a gift from trustee emeritus Joel B. Wilder '58 and his family to promote teaching excellence. Two longtime faculty members, David Carhart and Aaron Nurick, were the first to serve in this role, from January 2003 to June 2008. 

David Carhart, a professor of Mathematical Sciences and former director of the Undergraduate Honors Program, is a past recipient of the Gregory H. Adamian Award for Teaching Excellence. The Bentley Student Government Association named him Faculty Member of the Year in both 2001 and 2002.

Aaron Nurick, a professor of Management and Psychology, is also an Adamian Award recepient, as well a recipient of Joseph M. Cronin Award for Excellence in Academic Advising and was named Academic Advisor of the Year in 1992.

Gregory Hall and Donna Fletcher are the current Wilder Teaching Professors.

Donna Fletcher is an Associate Professor of Finance and has served as the Director of the Risk Management Program since July 2005. She is an accomplished teacher and is very active in student learning and curriculum development initiatives including the most recent business core revision and the liberal studies major.

Gregory Hall is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences. Greg has served in a variety of capacities, including Associate Undergraduate Dean and Department Chair. Currently Greg is the director of the Undergraduate Honors Program. Greg is the recepient of the Gregrory H. Adamian Award for Excellence in Teaching and has been selected twice as the Student Government Association Faculty Member of the Year. Greg's teaching has been recognized with the Innovation in Teaching Award and Curricular Service Learning Faculty Award. Greg teaches courses in Cyber Psychology, Financial Psychology and Developmental Psychology.
