My Bentley Story by Mark Semanie
Alumnus/a, Bel Air, Maryland
In the fall of 1980 I was a 17 year old high school senior in Enfield, CT and I was facing the big decision of where to go to college and what to do with my life. I was lucky enough to attend a very good high school that had a strong business program and through that program I learned that Accounting was easy for me and that I liked it.
That affinity for Accounting narrowed my school search to 3 schools including Bentley. I chose Bentley for the wrong reason (it was the first school to accept me), but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
At Bentley I grew up, gained career focus and skills, and fell in love. Over 30 years later my career has taken many positive twists and turns all built on a foundation of a great education. In addition, I am still happily married to Vicki Vassalotti from the Bentley class of 1986.
