Dr. Kester is the George Fisher Baker Jr. Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and has served as a member of the institution’s faculty since 1981. During his time at Harvard, Carl has served as the deputy dean for academic affairs, chairman of the Finance Unit and senior associate dean and chairman of the MBA Program. Carl is the author or co-author of numerous books, articles and case studies on corporate finance and corporate governance. More than a million of his case studies have been sold worldwide. An economics graduate of Amherst College, Carl also holds advanced degrees including an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He received his PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, where his doctoral thesis was the winner of the Advanced Management Program Thesis Fellowship prize. Carl has served on the board of trustees since 2012.
