In consultation with your faculty adviser and the Liberal Arts degree coordinator, you’ll choose 10 courses to complete the major.
You can elect to focus your studies in a specific area of interest not covered by an existing Bentley major — for example, behavioral sciences or modern languages.
Another option is to choose courses from several departments to create an interdisciplinary major with a specific focus. The major also requires that you develop Intermediate II competency in a modern language.
Christian Rubio likes a challenge. It’s one of the reasons he has been working with honors students for much of his teaching career — and why he said “yes” to taking on the role as director of the Honors Program at Bentley, which serves the university’s most academically advanced and intellectually curious students.
Bentley is known for both its extensive service-learning and study abroad opportunities. Recently, the two came together when 16 students traveled to Ecuador over Spring Break for an international service-learning experience in the heart of the indigenous Mondaña community, deep in the Amazon rainforest. While there, they worked alongside community members to build the foundation for doctors’ residences at a new health clinic.
