J. Andrew Shepardson, Ph.D.

In his position, Andrew oversees the social, recreational, cultural, health and behavioral growth offered to students through educational programming and activities. He supervises Athletics, the Center for Health and Wellness, Counseling and Student Development, the Residential Center, the Multicultural Center, the Center for International Students and Scholars, Student Activities, Student Conduct and Development, and Spiritual Life. He has worked at Bentley since 1993 as Judicial Coordinator and Assistant and Associate Dean of Student Affairs.

He completed his Ph.D. at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. His research interests focus on student behavior and moral development. He has a M.Ed. in Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University and a B.A. in English from St. Michael's College in Vermont. He has taught at the undergraduate level as an adjunct faculty member in the Management Department at Bentley and at the graduate level in the Administration of Higher Education program at Suffolk University.
He has been named staff member of the year by Bentley students; won the Circuit of the Year award by the Association of Student Judicial Affairs; received the Founder's Day award from his colleagues at Bentley and the Dissertation of the Year by the Association of Student Judicial Affairs.

Doreen Floyd

As part of the office of the Dean of Student Affairs, Doreen works most closely with the student life area, which includes student programs and engagement, graduate programs & engagement, student conduct and development, new student programs and spiritual life.   Doreen joined Bentley in 1986 and has held several positions during that time, including Director of Student Activities/Campus Center, and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

She received her M.Ed. in Higher Education Policy, Research and Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her B.A. from Bridgewater State (College) University in Communication Studies with a concentration in Speech.  While at Bentley, Doreen has been the recipient of the Founder’s Day award and been involved in many divisional initiatives.  She has served her peers outside of Bentley as the Region 1 Representative for the Association of College Unions International (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Great Britain, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, France, Ireland, and Prince Edward Island), and been recognized with the ACUI Distinguished Service Award.

Jamie Bang

Jamie Bang is responsible for administrating the university conduct system. In her role, Jamie maintains all conduct documents, supports students through the adjudication process and serves as the advisor to the Level I and II board.

Stephanie’s role as Program Coordinator is to generate excitement for Bentley athletics through university-wide programs that bolster pride and spirit for the Institution. She also supports the Orientation program and oversees the recruitment, training, and supervision of the student staff for the Orientation Team.

Cindy provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs.  In addition, she provides administrative support to the Student Affairs staff who oversee the graduate programs and engagement, student conduct and development, gender equity and development, new student programs and orientation programs as well as spiritual life.

In his role, A.J. provides graduate students with support outside of the classroom to enhance the graduate student life experience. A.J. coordinates New Graduate Student Orientation, connects students with involvement opportunities, advises the graduate student organizations, and assists graduates students with identifying resources on campus which can make their graduate student experience one that is robust, engaging and meaningful.

Alex Hirs

In his role, Alex coordinates conversations and programming related to diversity, gender issues, and men as allies. Alex sits on Bentley’s Diversity Council and co-facilitates the annual Diversity Retreat for faculty and staff. He has experience evaluating the ways students perform their gender on campus and how these ideologies and behaviors influence gender-based violence.

Jessica Kenerson supports strategic initiatives within the Division of Students Affairs at Bentley University. She works with the 10 departments within the Division to ensure fiscal stewardship, professional development, and programmatic initiatives related to connections to the academic experience, meaningful diverse interactions, and building community spirit through a student-centered philosophy.

As Bentley’s Case Manager, Erin is committed to helping students reach their personal and academic goals while connecting them to resources that promote their overall well-being. She plays a vital role on the University’s CARE Team, which is a small group of professionals on campus who provide support, guidance, or feedback to students who are experiencing academic, physical, mental health, or social challenges.
