Special Library Hours: Tuesday 12/19-Friday 12/22

Please note the following changes to the library's hours for the period of time after finals end and before winter break begins:

Tuesday, December 19 
(last day of exams)
6:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m.

Wednesday, December 20 – Friday, December 22
8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

The library will be closed for Bentley University's Winter Break from Saturday, December 23 through Sunday, January 7. We will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Check out these Reading Day Relief and final exams period stress relief activities at the library! Take care of yourselves as we enter the final stretch of the semester. Be sure to eat well, get plenty of sleep, and take frequent study breaks.

Don't forget that library staff are here to help with everything from printing, to booking a study room, to conducting research and creating citations. No question is too big or too small.

Extended Study Hours for Finals Begin Monday, December 11

Extended study hours for final exams will begin on Monday, December 11 (the day before Reading Day). The library will open at 6:30 a.m. on all weekdays during exam period and stay open until 2:00 a.m. (excluding Friday & Saturday). 

Additionally, the library’s classroom on the lower level (room 11) will be open throughout exams as a bonus quiet study space to accommodate more students. We expect the library to be busy during exams—please be respectful of those studying around you.

Thanksgiving Week Holiday Hours

Go Beyond Library Databases With Unpaywall: A Free, Legal Way to Access Research Articles

It’s surprisingly expensive to access scholarly articles. Many important articles, vital for research, are behind paywalls—financial impediments from accessing the material. It might not seem like these articles are expensive while browsing through Bentley’s collection, but online access doesn’t come cheap. Generally, around half of library budgets often go to electronic resources. The most frustrating part? There are still more databases out there that are too expensive to justify purchasing.
