Kevin McLaughlin, Freeport, Fla., has been named vice president of Hann Powerboats Inc.

The William Joiner Center for the Study of War and Social Consequences has recognized Ernest E. Washington Jr., Mattapan, Mass., with the 2010 Theodore Parker Award for “outstanding service to the veteran community.” The alumnus is president and chief executive officer of Mastermind Management Systems Group.

The Board of Directors of the American Gas Association has elected Nick Stavropoulos, Natick, Mass., as first vice chairman for 2011. Stavropoulos is executive vice president and chief operating officer of U.S. gas distribution for National Grid.

Steven Valorz, Charlottesville, Va., has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry. He is director of marketing at Medical Automation Systems.

Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin has announced that James Reardon, Essex Junction, Vt., will continue to serve the Green Mountain State as commissioner of finance and management.

Anthony Valente, Saugus, Mass., has joined Eliassen Group as chief financial officer.

Sawgrass Country Club has named Benjamin Peck, Palm Coach, Fla., to serve as chief financial officer. He also was elected treasurer for the Florida chapter north region for the Club Managers Association of America. A third organization – Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals – tapped Peck as vice president for the group’s First Coast chapter.

Anthony Metivier, Queensbury, N.Y., has been appointed director of insurance operations for Club Insurance Services, an AAA Northway company.

Putnam Investments has promoted Robert E. Alan, Yonkers, N.Y., to serve as head of North America Consultant Relations, based in Boston. The alumnus will lead Putnam's efforts to work with the consultants who advise institutional investors on investment strategy and the selection of managers.

The Professional Golfers Association has named Mike Aldrich, Ashburn, Va., as the 2011 Middle Atlantic PGA Assistant of the Year.

Greenwich Bank & Trust President Rick Muskus, Riverside, Conn., visited Bentley to meet with students interested in banking.

OppenheimerFunds Inc. has named Diane (Mondress) Frankenfield ’MBA, Sherborn, Mass., to serve as senior vice president of digital strategy and customer experience.

Amanda Hesser, Brooklyn, N.Y., has written The Essential New York Times Cookbook: Classic Recipes for a New Century. Hesser is a food columnist for The New York Times.

Manuel Roldan, Seville, Spain, is an export manager in the food industry.

Pope Benedict XVI has named Edward J. Arsenault ’MSF, Manchester, N.H., a Chaplain of His Holiness, with the title “Reverend Monsignor.” The alumnus is president and CEO of Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring, Md.

Ken Distel, Avon, Conn., has been elected president of the American Association of Managing General Agents Under Forty Organization for the 2011-2012 term. Distel is vice president of operations at Joseph Distel & Company Inc.

Hill Holliday has welcomed David Collier, Peabody, Mass., as vice president and director of solutions and service.

Dave Scoglio, Morrisville, N.C., has been named chief financial officer at Asure Software.

The New England Foundation for the Arts announced that Anita M. Chan 'MST, Arlington, Mass., has been appointed financial controller.

The (New Bedford, Mass.) Standard-Times has identified Travis Kessock, Fairhaven, Mass., among the “Top Young Professionals Under 40” for 2010. Selected for innovation, leadership and community service, Kessock is a limited partner with investment firm Edward Jones.

Kathryn Ordway Beaudry, Cambridge, Mass., has joined Harvard Law School as director of financial planning and analysis.

Winchester Savings Bank has welcomed Amy Timmerman ’MBA, Dorchester, Mass., to the role of marketing director.

TD Bank has named Bill Lau, Andover, Mass., to manage its branch in the Chelmsford Hannaford store. As an assistant vice president, he develops new business, oversees consumer and business lending, and manages personnel and day-to-day operations at the store. The alumnus has 14 years of banking experience.

Brian Swanson ’MBA, New York, N.Y., has joined the Institutional Trust & Custody division at Union Bank, as senior client relationship manager and product executive.

KAF Financial Group has named Stephanie Drum ’MST, Carver, Mass., to the post of senior tax manager in the CPA firm’s Braintree headquarters.

Easton Dickson ’MST, Attleboro, Mass., has been promoted to senior manager of treasury operations at Rogers Corporation.

Blake Reynolds, Boston, Mass., has joined Calloway Laboratories as document production manager.

Amanda Mongell, North Andover, Mass., won the McLaughlin Moot Court competition at Suffolk University, where she is a law student.
