Congrats on your acceptance to Bentley University. We're excited that you've decided to join us for your graduate studies! Here are some next steps to help you get started here:
You should have submitted you graduate school deposit, if not you can do it on the Slate portal provided by Graduate Admission.
Bentley Email & Credentials: Within 48 hours after you submit your deposit, you were sent an email with instructions for setting up your Bentley accounts. Your short name, once established, will provide you the full range of network resources you will need to use. This process takes 24-48 hours and does not happen immediately. Please visit the New Student Technology Overview page and review and complete each of the mandatory bulleted items.
Consult with an Academic Advisor: Graduate Student Academic Services advisers can help you develop your personal degree completion plan. We are available for office, phone or Skype appointments during scheduled times. Please note: Student must complete their degree(s) within 5 years.
Registration Information: Review online course registration materials via the Registrar's Office website. Information about registration times will be posted on the Academics Tab of your MyBentley account approximately two weeks prior to the start of registration for the upcoming term.
Contact Information: Verify that your contact information is correct in MyBentley: select Student Self-Service, Personal Information and then View Address and Phone. If your contact information needs to be updated, please submit the Graduate Forms/Address Update to the Registrar’s Office.
New to the area?
Bentley’s proximity to Boston is a great advantage for graduate students. The city is home to more than 250,000 college students who enjoy socializing, learning and meeting others from around the world. Check out some resources about how to get around or to find housing.
Shuttle Service: Please check the Bentley University Shuttle Website for shuttle routes and schedules. If you will be driving to campus for classes, you will need to obtain a parking sticker for your vehicle. Depending on location, some graduate students also use other transportation options to get to campus such as taxis, public transportation, and car-share programs.
Find a Place to Live: Bentley University has partnered with Off-Campus Partners to provide graduate students with the ability to search for and find off-campus housing accommodations in the Waltham and Greater Boston Area. Bentley University does not have on-campus housing available for graduate students. To access the Off-Campus Housing Service site you will need your Bentley email address. If you plan to use the shuttle, please use the shuttle link above when considering all housing options.
As we get closer to the start of classes...
To help you prepare for the start of classes, check out the Online New Grad Guide and completed any last minute tasks.
Orientation: New students are highly encouraged to participate in our Online Grad Guide which provides students with an overview of the offices and resources at Bentley University. In addition, there is an on-campus orientation each semester for students who will attend classes locally on campus. Watch your email for more information and an invitation to the program.
Obtain your Falcon Student ID Card: New students can upload their own Bentley ID photo for their Falcon Card. By using this process you will avoid lines and save valuable time. Please go to MyPhoto and login by using your Bentley email and network password. Students can visit the Campus Police Card Office as early as three weeks before the start of classes to obtain their student ID.
Register for a parking permit: All campus parking lots are permitted and require students to register their vehicles and display a university permit. Registration may be completed through MyBentley. After you have registered your vehicle online, you can pick up your parking decal at the University Police station. Bring your valid driver's license, valid motor vehicle registration, and Bentley ID card in hand.
Review Health Care Requirements: Student requirements for health insurance vary based upon registered course credits. Students registered for nine credits or more are required to complete a health care form and provide immunization records based upon registered course credits.
Online New Graduate Student Guide
The Online Grad Guide provides you an opportunity to learn about the various resources and services that may assist you with being a successful Bentley graduate student! This online resource site is designed for you to access before classes begin, but it can also be used throughout the academic year.
The Online Grad Guide is not an alternative to the on-campus graduate orientation experience; rather it will complement the on-campus program for those who are able to attend. For our students who participate in courses remotely/online, we hope that you will be able to use this guide to learn more about Bentley for those times you visit campus.
After you create an account, the New Grad Guide allows you to access information two ways: you can click through each section consecutively by starting with the Welcome or you can access the Table of Contents at the bottom left of the home page to skip to a specific topic.
