Actuarial Science Degree

Actuaries are a bit like fortune-tellers — except they rely on a lot more than intuition to make predictions for the future.

These highly sought-after professionals analyze historical data (a lot of it) to assess risk and forecast long-term patterns for companies in the insurance and financial industries. It’s an important job — without the expertise provided by professionals with an actuary degree, some of the world’s top organizations wouldn’t be able to sustain and grow their operations.

Our Actuarial Science Major

Ranked among the top 25 Actuarial Science degrees in the nation by College Choice for 2016-17, the Bentley program is designed to give you exactly these critical skills. You'll study mathematics and financial theory through courses emphasizing math, finance and risk management. Not only will you become an analytical master, but you’ll also learn how the field applies to a business’s wider operations. This expertise is highly valued by employers.

Professional Exam Preparation

In addition, the Actuarial Science degree also provides extensive preparation for the first exams (P/1, FM/2, MLC and MFE/3F) you’ll need to pass to become an actuary. You’ll also earn Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) credit, which can be applied to additional exams offered jointly by the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society and Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
