Val Fox has been named chief marketing officer for Bentley University. Fox has been with Bentley since January 2012, and brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing with an expertise in connecting to audiences in a digital landscape.

Fox came on board at Bentley as Director of Digital Engagement where she was tasked with driving digital strategy and marketing, and led the successful mobile-first redesign of the Bentley.edu website. In subsequent years she led initiatives such as the launch of Bentley’s content marketing platform, the redesign of Bentley Magazine, and the rollout of the “Business is Everywhere – Prepare Here” recruitment marketing campaign. Most recently, Fox initiated the Hybrid Jobs narrative which has generated significant national media attention and amplifed Bentley’s mission to prepare students for a successful life and career.

In July 2016, Fox was named interim CMO for Bentley.

“Over the past nine months, Val has been a terrific addition to the Cabinet and a strong interim leader for the Marketing and Communications division,” said president Gloria Larson. “I believe her impressive record and proven gift for connecting the Bentley brand to a fast-growing national audience makes her the ideal leader for Bentley as we enter our Centennial year.”

Prior to joining Bentley, Fox served as vice president of marketing for a VC-backed startup and led the marketing strategy and evolution of digital platforms at Forrester Research. She also led the development of an online retail platform for Bose Corporation.

She holds an MBA in marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland, and an undergraduate business degree from American University.
