Pat also served as Dean of the McCallum Graduate School of Business from 1992 to 2002. She has written extensively on technology-based economic development and on women in business. Her publications include Technology Life Cycles and Human Resources and Turbulence in the American Workplace. Her work has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Business Week, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Financial Executive, and on NBC’s The Today Show. Pat is co-author of The Boston Club’s Census of Women Directors and Executive Officers published annually since 2003. She is co-chair of the newly created Working Group on Gender Equality for the United Nations Global Compact (UNCG) Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

Pat has served on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards. She is currently a director of Columbia Funds. She previously served on the boards of Boston Fed Bancorp Inc., U.S. Trust, and The Federal Savings Bank, each of which was acquired. In the not-for-profit sector, Pat serves on the boards of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD)/New England, the John Adams Innovation Institute, and the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. She also is member of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and the Board of Visitors of the New England Baptist Hospital.
