The two began dating during their junior year at Bentley. It was a match made in college heaven. Falzone moved in with roommates who were friends with Casey’s roommates. They got together in March 2007 and their trajectories lined up perfectly: graduation the following spring, jobs in Boston — his at KPMG, hers at PricewaterhouseCoopers — two Masters of Accounting degrees, and two passing scores on the CPA exam.

After four years, Casey was ready for something different. When a position came up with PwC’s office in Zug, she broached the topic with Falzone and, after getting him on the same page (she wanted him to move, too!) they agreed that if they could make it happen with their respective companies, they would make the move.

They loved living in Europe. They made lots of new friends, uniting the ex-pats from PwC and KPMG, and traveled more than expected. Falzone is quick to rattle off their destinations, although he can’t be sure he has remembered them all: Germany, Venice, Paris, Nice, Dijon, Bourdeaux, Rome, Barcelona, London, Lugano, Dublin, Budapest, Vienna, Croatia, Krakow, Norway, Amsterdam, India, Belgium, Prague. Casey peppers the list with comments about who was on each trip — family, Bentley friends, Zurich friends, just the two of them.

One of the two-person jaunts was to Santorini, Greece. “We had spent the day at the beach and were drinking really bad wine out of plastic cups on the balcony of our hotel as the sun set,” recalls Casey. “I wasn’t cold, but Sal insisted on going inside to get me a jacket. Next thing I know, he’s on one knee behind me on the balcony!”

The pair, who have since made their home in Newton, Mass., will be married in June 2015, with Father Claude, retired director of the Spiritual Life Center, officiating.
