Studying abroad for Kyle White ’18 didn’t just mean an international adventure; it also meant deepening global Bentley friendships. As a Santander fellow at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Kyle was in the shoes of Austrian classmates who had studied abroad at Bentley the year before. Now, he was the one immersing himself in a foreign culture and classes — and it was an experience he says he’ll never forget.

"My semester abroad was fantastic because my Austrian friends were able to show me their lives, bring me into their homes and show me what it’s really like to be Austrian. My classes were exceptional, very internationally focused with people from all over the world. As a marketing major, it was fascinating to see how different cultures work in the business world, when to be aggressive (with Americans) and when to be quiet and respectful (with Asian countries).

"It was my first time living in a city and I truly felt like I grew as a person, from just doing the small things like carrying my groceries across town to larger ventures like traveling through Eastern Europe. Thanks to Santander’s support, I could say ‘yes’ to every once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’m so grateful."
