China Medical Board Awards $149,000 Grant to Bentley University

The China Medical Board of the Rockefeller Foundation awarded a $149,000 grant to Bentley University.  Assistant Professor of History Bridie Andrews will use the funding to organize a conference on the history of medicine in China, scheduled for December 10 to 12 at Endicott House in Dedham, Mass.

Bentley University Professor Dominique Haughton Elected as American Statistical Association Fellow

The American Statistical Association (ASA) has announced the election of Dominique Haughton, Bentley University professor of mathematical sciences, as an ASA Fellow. Fellows are recognized for their outstanding professional contributions and leadership in the field of statistical science. Haughton is one of 58 new fellows, hailing from 25 states, Canada, and Singapore. The fellows will receive their certificates on August 2 at the annual Joint Statistical Meetings in Miami Beach, Florida.

Research by Professor P. Thompson Davis Recognized as Most Cited Article in Quaternary Research

A paper co-written by P. Thompson Davis, professor of geology and paleoclimatology in the Natural and Applied Sciences Department, was the most cited article in Quaternary Research (Volume 65, Issue 1, 2006) between 2005 and 2010.

Bentley University Associate Professor Dipayan Biswas Wins Best Research Paper Award at the American Marketing Association Annual Summer Conference

Bentley University faculty member Dipayan Biswas received an award from the American Marketing Association (AMA) at their Annual Summer Marketing Educators' Conference held August 13 to 16, 2010 in Boston, Massachusetts. Biswas received the Award for Best Paper in the Consumer Behavior Track at the AMA Conference for his research on how consumers might make erroneous judgments when trying to compute mathematical averages.

The Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation awarded Bentley University Professor of Management Joseph Weiss with a 2010 Marion and Jasper Whiting Fellowship.
