Group Study Rooms

The library provides state-of-the-art collaborative study spaces, which can be reserved online by current Bentley students for completing assigned collaborative coursework. Reservations can be made using either the campus wide EMS system or the mobile app, Direct Spaces, in advance. Students can choose from:

• 20 group study rooms designed to support the need for collaboration in a business university. 17 rooms feature large-screen LCD displays which automatically switch between room PCs and student laptops with 2 additional rooms featuring SMART boards.
• 2 Hush Pods which are small office pods with noise reduction capabilities.

Individual students may used unoccupied group study rooms, but not reserve the rooms for individual use (with some exceptions as defined in our Reserved Spaces Policies on this page). 

Students looking for space to conduct an online meeting or interview can reserve group study rooms 001 and 002 which are located on the lower level of the library. These rooms are equipped with webcams mounted underneath the LCD screen. Interview space can also be requested at The Pulsifer Career Development Center by emailing recruitinginfo@bentley.edu.

The Reservable Space Policies apply to both Group Study Room and Hush Pod use.

• Group study rooms may only be reserved by Bentley students for assigned collaborative coursework. An individual student may use an unreserved group study room but may not reserve a room for individual use with the exception of Group Study Room 001, 002, and the Hush Pods.
• Students can make one reservation per day for up to two hours. 
• Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance.
• Empty group study rooms can be reserved on-the-fly using the panel mounted at the entrance of the room while empty Hush Pods can be reserved on the fly using the QR code posted outside the pod.
• Rooms are for coursework, not student org meetings.
• You must "check-in" to your reservation within 15 minutes of the start otherwise your reservation will be canceled. You can check in on the app, on the EMS website, or at the panel outside the room. (Note: Hush Pod check-in can only be completed in the app or on the EMS website.)
• Group study rooms are not soundproof. Keep conversations quiet.

Students who do not adhere to the group study room policies will be subject to having their reservation privileges revoked.
