Disability Awareness Week Display & Resources from Student Accessibility Services and the Library

March 23–March 27 is Disability Awareness Week at Bentley!

The library is excited to collaborate with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) on a curated display of books, essays, poetry, and films that highlight the voices of disability and explore the history and future of disability rights and activism. Visit the library lobby this week to browse the display and informational materials provided by Student Accessibility Services and the library. You can also view the display online via the library's curated collections page. Bookmark the link to revisit the display after Disability Awareness Week concludes.

Special events are happening all week long - check the schedule below and add them to your calendar!

Monday March 23: 

  • LaCava Café, 10:30am – 1pm: Disability Awareness Information Table - sign the Disability Awareness Pledge; Talk with the Pulsifer Development Center; Meet Bentley’s Nutritionist (First 100 visitors get a FREE t-shirt).
  • LaCava 305 AB, 1pm – 2pm - “Parenting a Child with a Disability” talk with Anne Herzog– Cookies and drinks provided 

Tuesday March 24: 

  • Asynchronous Virtual Session – “Accommodation Differences Between High School and College” – recording will be sent out!

Wednesday March 25: 

  • JEN 336, 12pm – 1:45pm - Career Services drop-ins for students with disabilities with Lisa Dinsmore
  • Lindsay 30, 2pm – 3pm - Video and Panel Discussion on “Faculty Perspectives on Communicating with and to Neurodivergence” with Ashely Barry, Callum Borchers, Jacob Crane, and Brian Wilson. Snacks will be provided! 

Thursday March 26: 

  • LaCava 375 AB, 12pm – 1:30pm - Discussion Lunch with experts - Guilherme Costa, Leslie Doolittle Stephanie Segalini, Amy Weber – Bring your questions, lunch is provided!
