Reading Day Relief & Crafternoon: Snacks, Crafts, and Games on April 30

Take a break from studying and join us on Thursday, April 30, for Reading Day Relief activities! Stop by for free snacks, fun crafts, games, and other ways to unwind. Check the times and descriptions below and drop in to as many as you can.

Throughout finals week, visit the lobby for continuous stress-busters like making your own bookmarks, working on a community jigsaw puzzle, and playing board games. 

READING DAY RELIEF & CRAFTERNOON

SNACK BREAK
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. | lobby 
Recharge with hot coffee/tea, lemonade, iced tea, and snacks.

CRAFTERNOON
No experience needed, supplies provided

  • MAKE A STRESS BALL
    12:30 – 2:00 p.m. | art gallery atrium
    Craft your own stress ball out of a balloon and oobleck. (What the heck is oobleck?!). We'll provide the instruction and materials needed to make and personalize a stress ball. (while supplies last)
  • DIY KEYCHAINS, BUTTONS & BRACELETS 
    1:30 – 3:00 p.m. | room 101 
    Use the library button maker to make buttons or keychains. Bracelet making supplies will also be available - make one for yourself or to give to a friend.
  • CROCHET YOUR WAY TO CALM - WORRY WORMS
    3:00 –  4:30 p.m. | room 101
    These simple and super cute crochet worry worms will help keep the stress away. Beginners are welcome, and experienced crocheters are encouraged to share their skills.

BOARD GAMES WITH BABT
5:00–9:00 p.m. | Bowles Room (lower level, room 043) 
Hosted in partnership with the Bentley Association of Board and Tabletop Games (BABT), enjoy a mix of classic and modern board games. Come solo or with friends. BABT members will help you learn something new. Light snacks provided.

STRESS REDUCERS: ONGOING MAY 1-7

Throughout exam period we're providing activities that will help reduce stress, stimulate creativity, and boost your mood. Close your laptop, put down your phone, and head to the lobby to explore these stress-busters:

  • DIY bookmarks: Pre-made bookmark templates, blank bookmarks, stencils, and accessories
  • Coloring books: Pull up a comfy chair and color away the stress
  • Games table: Grab a friend or two for a board game study break
  • Community jigsaw puzzle
  • Words of Encouragement whiteboard

As you wrap up your final papers, projects, and assignments library staff are here to lend a hand. You've got this, Falcons!
