All staff members are granted leave to cope with a death in their family. To allow you to make necessary arrangements, observe final rites, and take the first steps toward recovery from such a loss, Bentley will grant up to three paid days in the case of the death of a member of your immediate family.
Immediate family is defined as your spouse, spousal equivalent, parent, child, sibling, in-laws, grandparents, grandchildren or a member of the same household. You may also take one day off with pay for the funeral of another family member not listed above. You must use vacation or personal time to take time off in the event of the death of a non-family member. You should notify your supervisor as soon as you become aware of your need for bereavement leave. With your supervisor's approval, you may also use available paid time off, excluding sick time, for additional leave.
This policy may be amended at any time.
