Promotion & Tenure - External Evaluators

This page is a guide for those who have been asked to complete an external evaluation as part of a Bentley faculty member's P&T process. Learn how to review a candidate's P&T packet and then to securely upload your evaluation and additional files.

IMPORTANT! If a candidate is up for Distinguished or Senior Lecturer, no external evaluations are provided.

To begin the process, you will receive email from the departmental review chair requesting your evaluation by May 20.

You will then need to review the candidate's packet and upload and submit your evaluation.

In the above resources, you can see how to:

  • Accept or decline a request
  • Review all of the candidate's materials
  • Upload your evaluation and any other supporting materials
  • Submit your evaluation

Evaluations are due on August 20.

Some important notes

  • You do NOT need to create an Interfolio account to write a review. Until submission, you can access the evaluation via the initial email.
  • You will not be able to select the + Add button until the file has been fully uploaded. 
  • Besides the evaluation, if you would like to add additional files, you can do so under Additional Files. You can add up to 10 more files and can replace, add, and delete documents as you see fit. 

  • Do NOT select Submit until you are completely done with your evaluation. Once you submit, you cannot make changes.
