Bentley Names Mark Harris Vice President, CFO and Treasurer
Mark Harris has joined Bentley as vice president for administration and finance, chief financial officer and treasurer. He has more than 20 years of progressive senior-level leadership experience across the energy, financial services and higher education sectors.
Before coming to Bentley, Harris served as vice president for finance and administration and CFO at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York, where he established a new budget philosophy that maintained healthy margins and reinvested gains into necessary capital projects.
Harris is known for driving organizational transformation, strengthening financial resilience and advancing strategic growth through data-informed decision-making and disciplined financial management. He brings deep expertise in strategic planning, financial modeling, organizational leadership and institutional effectiveness. His leadership style focuses on stabilizing operations, enhancing institutional capacity and building high-performing teams that support long-term sustainability and mission-driven outcomes.
Harris’ longstanding career in financial leadership includes positions at Suffolk County Community College in New York; Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, New Jersey; and Cumberland County College in Vineland, New Jersey.
Before joining the higher education sector, Harris held various roles at Brand Energy and Infrastructure Services, a premier provider of integrated specialty services to the global energy, industrial and infrastructure markets.
Harris holds a Doctor of Business Administration and an MBA in Finance from Wilmington University, as well as a Master of Science in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia.
