Bentley University Offers Expert on Legalized Casino Gambling in Massachusetts

Economics Professor Dave Gulley is available to comment on the economic impact of Governor Deval Patrick signing gambling legislation into law today. Professor Gulley believes:

·         The introduction of casino gambling and slots betting may have a negative effect on state lottery revenues as there is some degree of substitution between the two forms of gambling. 

·         However, the licensing fees and revenue from the casinos may increase revenue to the state.
