Human Impact = Population X Affluence X Technology... I wont kill you anymore for going 'CSR'
Trivia time!!! What's the color of this world according to you? Definitely not as blunt as black and white right? That might actually be a bad filter to apply on the hues that the world has to offer you. In my eyes, the world is moving from BLACK(that's how I define carbon emission:-)) to GREEN(carbon free technology) and very recently BLUE(blue motion is the name of the game, GO Volkswagen!). Sustainability of resources however easy to talk about is all the more difficult to achieve. Here's a challenge for you: Choose a public company and try to draft a 1 page sustainability report for it. You might probably end it and o to bed before you even got started! Throughout our program we have always been on the hunt for tangible solutions to world problems. Ideological dreams(as i call them) like sustainability, corporate social responsibility and the likes have always been on our hit list for their inability to be quantified perfectly. We had a wonderful session this week with our partner school in France- Kedge Business School on how to define 'Go green' on an excel spreadsheet, literally!!! Human IMPACT on the world and the micro environment, now has a numeric form in my quantity driven mind, and the ability to measure it has created a new realm for me as I gather my senses to learn some more about evaluating sustainability in the future months.
