Preparing for the Spring 2022 Semester

Dear Students,

We hope all of you have thoroughly enjoyed this winter break and managed to find the right balance of joyful gatherings, celebration, rest and relaxation. No doubt, you are closely following the news as Omicron rapidly spreads across the United States. More directly, we imagine this wave has impacted you, your family and loved ones, in some way or another, over the past few weeks. So before anything else, we hope you and your families are as healthy and safe as can be.

While we still have a couple weeks before most of you return to Waltham, we wanted to provide some guidance on when you can expect updated plans and details regarding the spring semester. The university is diligently preparing for students to arrive as scheduled and the semester to begin on January 24. Some student athletes have already returned to campus to continue their season and winter intensives will begin, as planned, next week. On Tuesday, the President’s Cabinet will meet to review the most recent COVID-19 data and trends, and will discuss any additional protocols needed for the start of the semester. We will share an update on start of the semester plans with all students, faculty and staff on Wednesday, January 12.

Next week the university will also send you a detailed email with instructions for submitting your pre-arrival testing information. As a reminder, PCR tests administered within 72 hours of arrival or antigen rapid tests (including home tests) administered within 24 hours of arrival will be accepted. Finally, please remember that the deadline to receive your COVID-19 booster shot and upload your updated CDC vaccination card to the Bentley Health Portal is your specific move-in day for residential students and February 1 for non-residential students

We look forward to seeing you soon.
