Strategic Positioning Process Update and Next Steps

August 2, 2022

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I hope that you have all found time to rest and recharge during these summer months. We accomplished a great deal together last year, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve when we come together again in a few short weeks. Before we do so, I wanted to take a moment to share with you a brief update about the next steps of our strategic positioning process.

With the draft plan advancing toward the finish line, we recently reengaged our Strategic Priority Committee members to further refine and finalize the plan’s focus areas, objectives and actions. In each session, we endeavored to confirm that all aspects of the emerging plan faithfully supported our four foundational strategic priorities that inspired the last year of work — Elevating the Student Experience; Living our Culture and Values; Stewarding and Growing Our Resources; and Strengthening our Positioning and Partnerships.

In September, we will enter the final stage of planning in preparation for submission to the board of trustees at the October board meeting. As we near the submission date, I am asking all members of the community to come together one more time in service to this planning process. We will seek to collect additional feedback on the plan’s objectives and actions from faculty, staff and students via two community sessions. This final round of feedback will help ensure we deliver a plan to the board of trustees that makes our community proud and reflects the dedication of the individuals that support and enrich Bentley every day. Sessions will be held as follows and registration details will be shared in the coming weeks:

  • Wednesday, September 7, 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 13, 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

I am excited to see our strategic plan come to life. It has been invigorating to watch our community work so collaboratively and thoughtfully over the course of the past year, and I remain thankful for your engagement. I am confident that this plan will provide us with the best approach for the next decade and beyond for Bentley University.

Most Sincerely,
Brent Chrite
