BentleyAlert Emergency Notification System
BentleyAlert is Bentley University's emergency notification system used to alert the Bentley campus community in the event of an emergency or threat on campus.
Depending on the nature of the incident, some or all of the following systems may be utilized to communicate emergency information to the campus community via BentleyAlert:
- Email notification to Bentley and personal email accounts (those listed in Workday)
- Text messages to cell phones (those listed in Workday)
- Audio messages to cell phones and other phones (those listed in Workday)
- Outdoor sirens/loudspeakers
- Digital signage on certain screens on campus
- Push notifications in the BentleySafe app
- Classroom computer notifications
BentleyAlert messages will be sent to currently enrolled students and active faculty and staff. The initial messages may only contain a very brief description of the type of emergency along with protective actions. It is critical that community members follow the instructions immediately. After the initial alert message, more information may be distributed by additional alert messages, or by email, or on bentley.edu/emergency.
A full-scale test of the BentleyAlert system is performed during both the fall and spring semesters, and members of the Bentley community will be informed of at least one annual test date in advance by email. On some occasions, the test may be unannounced.
How to Register for Bentley Alerts
Students, Faculty, Staff
Phone numbers and email addresses for all current students, faculty, and staff within Workday are automatically enrolled in the BentleyAlert system to receive alerts. Other than verifying that your contact information in Workday is accurate, no action is required.

Contract employees, contractors, visitors, and others
Those without a Workday account can opt-in to receive BentleyAlerts using one or both of the following options:
