Fed Challenge Team

The next stop is Washington, DC for Bentley’s accomplished Fed Challenge team. The students’ presentations on current issues facing the Federal Open Market Committee led them to a victory in the College Fed Challenge regional competition, where they faced Harvard University, Northeastern University, Boston College and Clark University in the final round.

The Bentley Fed Challenge team presented to a panel of Federal Reserve economists and were judged on economic analysis, monetary policy decision-making, responses to questions, teamwork and presentation. “This year’s team was exceptionally prepared and has an incredible amount of technical knowledge on research and the current issues facing the Fed,” says Economics Professor Aaron Jackson, who is a team advisor along with Economics Professor Dave Gulley. “Students train for this intensely for eight months. Their job is to become Janet Yellen with the fate of the economy resting on their policy prescription.”

Bentley has competed in the Fed Challenge since 2007 and has advanced to the national competition four of the last six years. Bentley’s 2015 team members are:
