Adamian Renovation: September 2025 Highlights
September 29, 2025
On September 19 we held a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony that included leadership donors, our construction partners, and staff and faculty who are helping to make the Adamian renovation possible. Our crew continues to make steady progress, with visible changes happening inside the building.
Construction progress:
- Architectural demolition: The removal of non-structural parts of the building such as walls, ceilings, finishes, doors and fixtures is nearly complete on each floor. This step clears interior layers of the building but does not affect its structural skeleton.
- Crews are preparing areas for shoring, which involves planning where temporary supports will be placed to hold the building steady during construction.
Upcoming phases:
- Crews will move on to selective structural demolition which will include modifications to the existing steel structure to accommodate the future build out.
- Shoring towers (temporary vertical support frames) will be built to keep the structure stable while work progresses.
- Exploration work will begin for new footings (concrete base pads that support the foundation).
- A temporary “dance floor” will be installed in Wilder. This isn’t for dancing — it’s a raised platform that gives crews a safe, stable surface to work from when performing demolition higher up in the building.
