Convocation 2026 is on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Bentley Arena. Students and families are encouraged to meet at the Green Space between 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. and then the Falcon Walk will begin to the Arena. The Falcon Walk is an opportunity to walk together as a group as we officially welcome you into the Bentley community.  Below is more information about the event.

What is Convocation?

Convocation is an academic ceremony for first year students and new transfer students that formally welcomes them to the Bentley community. It is the first time students sit together as a class and the next time will be at Commencement. There are short welcome speeches from members of the administration, university president and Student Government Association. 

Where do I park and is there transportation provided to Convocation?

Parking is limited on south campus, and due to increased traffic, guests are encouraged to park on main campus. Please view the campus map. There will be a campus shuttle running from 1:30 to 2:25 p.m., which will pause for the Falcon Walk at 2:30 p.m., and resume from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. You may track the shuttle here.

What is the Falcon Walk?

Students and families are encouraged to meet at the Green Space between 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. and then the Falcon Walk will begin to the Arena. The Falcon Walk is an opportunity to walk together as a group so we may welcome you into the Bentley community.

Is there specific seating at the event?

Yes, the incoming class sits together on the floor of the Arena to signify the start of their academic journey. Guests will be seated in the bowl of the Arena and it is general seating that is first-come, first-served. Guests are encouraged to be seated by 2:45 p.m.

Do you, or someone you are attending with have any accessibility needs?

If you or someone you know has accessibility needs, please complete this form by noon on Wednesday, August 26. When you enter the Arena, a staff member can help assist you when you arrive.

What is the program?

A program will be available on the Convocation website closer to the ceremony.

Will the ceremony be livestreamed?

Yes, the livestream link will be available on the Convocation website closer to the ceremony.

Will the ceremony be recorded?

Yes, the ceremony will be recorded and available on the Convocation website afterward.
