raising the bar

Bentley University marked a significant milestone on April 14, 2026, when the community gathered to watch as the final structural beam was placed atop the new addition of the Adamian Academic Center — the future hub of the university’s Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship strategic initiative.

“One of the goals of our Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship initiative is to help our students and faculty imagine — and build — the future,” said President Brent Chrite. “Today, we’re here to celebrate our progress toward our shared vision of a reimagined Adamian Academic Center — a hub of future-focused, technology-enabled education that will serve as a focal point for Bentley to continue to thrive as the business university for the Innovation Age.”

The $85 million project began in summer of 2025 and there was a Groundbreaking Ceremony with the community. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall of 2027.

The fully renovated center, which was originally built in the 1980s, will house immersive labs and workspaces, meeting rooms and state-of-the-art technology to facilitate hands-on learning and collaborative innovation. It is designed for all community members — students, faculty, alumni and corporate partners — and will emphasize interdisciplinary innovation.

The reimagined Adamian Center is so much more than brick and mortar, and key to its mission is providing students with experiential learning opportunities that will develop essential, durable skills that will enable them to lead and thrive in the rapidly evolving global marketplace.

The Bentley community gathered to add their signatures on the final beam and watched with anticipation — with Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s “Takin’ Care of Business” playing in the background — as the beam was raised into place.

“A topping-off ceremony is, at its heart, a moment to pause to recognize how far we’ve come,” said President Chrite during the ceremony. “It’s a time to acknowledge the people who made this possible, and to look ahead to what this building will mean for generations of students, faculty and staff.”

President Chrite thanked the many project partners — Great Benefactors, trustees, the President’s Council, members of the Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Executive Committee, the facilities team, faculty and staff, architects from DSK, project managers from Colliers and the talented Consigli construction team.

"Your belief in this university, and your willingness to invest in its future, has helped ensure that Bentley is today — and will always be — a place where students become principled leaders who are deeply committed to good business."
