A New Semester Begins

Jan. 20, 2026

Dear Bentley community,

Welcome to Spring Semester 2026. This academic year has moved swiftly, and Bentley is making steady progress toward our goal of becoming the business university for the innovation age.

Though the Adamian building may be temporarily surrounded by construction fencing, within the building a new vision of learning at Bentley is coming to life. Each day brings us a step closer to a reimagined hub of activity, an integrative ecosystem that will empower new academic innovation, experiential learning, entrepreneurial creativity and opportunities, and industry collaboration in the heart of our upper campus.

As exciting as these developments are, there is also something fundamentally satisfying about the return to the classroom — any classroom. I had the pleasure of re-learning this lesson last semester when I co-taught a Falcon Discovery Seminar. Our class explored the intersection of capitalism and poverty — a fascinating topic in its own right — and it gave me the chance to be energized by the energy and inquisitiveness of Bentley students. I also got to work closely with some of our amazing faculty, to learn from them, and to see them in action. There simply is no substitute for the magic that happens when a group of people from different backgrounds and perspectives come together and consider a “wicked problem,” study it from all angles and learn from each other.

Of course, Bentley faculty and students experience this extraordinary synergy every day, supported by our talented staff who constantly challenge themselves to think and work differently. In fact, wherever a few Falcons are gathered, you can be assured that innovation and impact will follow.

Fortunately, we have the perfect opportunity to gather and celebrate as a community next week at our 40th celebration of MLK Day. In place of regularly scheduled classes and meetings, all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in sessions, reflect on new ideas and connect with fellow community members. It’s my hope that you’ll join us and make the most of the day.

Sincerely,

President Chrite
