Undergraduate International Student Orientation-Fall 2026

Undergraduate International students who register for the International Student Orientation will be able to arrive on campus early and move into their residence halls on August 25th.  They will attend three days (August 25th to August 27th) of specialized international student programming and be matched with a Peer Mentor to assist and support them while they are at Bentley.

International Student Orientation Schedule- August 25th-August 27th

 

Tuesday, August 25

Move-In

Location: Residence Halls and Student Center

Students check in to receive packets and IDs before proceeding to the dorms.

11:00am-1:00pm 

LUNCH:  Student Center 921 Dining Hall

2:00pm–4:00pm

Target Trip

Location: Pickup outside of Collins

Students visit a local department store to purchase essentials and supplies needed for settling in.

5:30pm–7:00pm

Welcome Reception

Location: LaCava Center, Executive Dining Room

Students and their families/friends are welcomed with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet fellow new students.

9:00pm–11:00pm

Rep Your Flag Party

Location: Student Center, Backbay ABC

Meet new friends, enjoy snacks, and celebrate your culture with students from the MOSAIC program.

 

Wednesday, August 26

Family Brunch

Location: LaCava Tent

Students and their families gather for brunch before the day’s events. If you prefer to have breakfast, instead, you can have your meal in the Student Center, 921 Dining Hall between 7:00am-8:30am.

10:00am–10:30am

Welcome

Location: Koumantzelis Auditorium

Meet the CISS staff and review the International Student Orientation Schedule.

10:15am–12:00pm

Family Information Session

Location: Lindsay 28

Family members meet with members of CISS, University Police, Academic Advising, and Wellness to cover immigration policy, campus safety, and physical, emotional, and academic well-being.

10:30am–11:30am

F-1 and J-1 Immigration Sessions

Location: Koumantzelis Auditorium and Lindsay 30

Learn about U.S. immigration regulations, maintaining status, required documents, enrollment and travel requirements, employment authorization, and CISS resources.

11:30am–12:00pm

Student Panel

Location: Koumantzelis Auditorium

Students will engage in an interactive panel with International Student Peer Mentors to discuss their experience at Bentley and learn tips and tricks for a successful first year.

12:00pm–1:00pm

LUNCH: Student Center 921 Dining Hall

1:30pm–4:00pm

Community Building with Peer Mentors

Location: LaCava Tent

Students get to know their international peer mentor and participate in fun games and activities.

5:30pm–8:00pm

Field Day/Cookout

Location: Greenspace

Students enjoy outdoor games and a cookout with the other pre-orientation programs.

Location: Student Center, Backbay ABC

Enjoy a fun game with your peers and learn interesting facts about Bentley while competing for prizes.

9:30am–10:15am

Story Circles

Location: Student Center, Backbay ABC

Students participate in a guided storytelling activity designed to build connections, share perspectives, and develop intercultural understanding.

10:15am–11:15am

Academic Success and U.S. Classroom Culture

Location: Student Center, Backbay ABC

Students will learn about U.S. classroom culture, teaching and learning styles, academic integrity, community with professors, and campus support resources.

11:15am–12:00pm

Health and Wellbeing in the U.S.

Location: Student Center, Backbay ABC

Students will hear from staff from the offices of Wellbeing and the Health and Counseling Centers to discuss the services they provide and the importance of overall wellbeing.

12:00pm-1:00pm

LUNCH:  Student Center 921 Dining Hall

11:00am–2:00pm

Vendor Fair

Location: Student Center

Do you need to open a bank account or purchase a cell phone plan? This is a chance to meet with representatives from various companies and learn about your options.

1:30pm–3:00pm

Immunization Clinic

Location: Student Center, Bubble

Do you still need any of the required immunizations to attend Bentley? Come to this event to get them!
