Vaneesha Dutra, PhD

Vaneesha is a finance professor with over 16 years experience in higher education. In her current role as a professor at Howard University, she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in investment analysis, financial institutions and markets, real estate, valuation and banking. Vaneesha has actively managed equity and real estate investment portfolios and prior to academia, worked in the mutual fund industry and in retail banking. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Loyola College and a PhD in finance from Florida State University. Vaneesha has served on multiple boards and is skilled in equity and financial markets, behavioral finance, financial literacy and economic empowerment programming, statistical/empirical methodology and analysis, curriculum development and higher education matters. In her free time, she volunteers and speaks on matters such as equity and inclusion, women's issues and the delivery of quality education.
