Get Involved with the E-Hub

The E-Hub helps students develop an entrepreneurial mindset and  learn essential skills associated with starting a new business. Supported by faculty and alumni entrepreneurs, the E-Hub nurtures the creative ideas of students to prepare them for success. Get involved by volunteering your time as a coach, speaker, mentor or judge.

Coaching

Coaches help to cultivate  entrepreneurial thinking  through small gatherings,  limited to 12 students, in the Somers Garage located in Jennison Hall. The sessions are held weekly on Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings. Popular topics have included angel funding, pitch decks and idea development. Coaching sessions may be conducted in-person or via Zoom and consist of a 35  minute presentation followed by a discussion period.  Coaches may choose a topic or pull from a list of E-Hub supplied options.

Speaking

Faculty members and alumni have the opportunity to share their experiences directly with students on campus a few times each semester. Sessions are offered to students taking entrepreneurship classes as well as other members of the university community. Presentations are 45 minutes followed by a Q&A session  and networking reception. Speakers may present on a topic of their choosing or may select from a list of options supplied by the E-Hub.

Mentoring

By invitation only, the mentor group is made up of successful alumni entrepreneurs with expertise in industries like health, technology and retail. A mentor’s time commitment is typically a maximum of four 30-minute meetings a month. The mentor will serve in an advisory capacity while students are enrolled at Bentley, however the  relationship may evolve upon graduation.

Judging

The E-Hub will host up to five student pitch competitions each year, focusing on different industry verticals. Each competition can comprise as many as ten presentations by student teams and may last three hours. In this role, your job will be to use your industry expertise to evaluate the presentations.
