BCA X CHB Case Competition - Fall 2025
The Fall 2025 Case Competition, hosted by the Center for Health and Business (CHB) and the Bentley Consulting Association (BCA), brought together six participating teams to compete.
Topic: Pharmora Inc - Prescribing a Turnaround Strategy
Problem Statement: Teams were tasked with analyzing Pharmora, a pharmaceutical case and developed possible avenues for innovation within the company.
Solution: Each team articulated a plan for Pharmora that proposed new technologies or alternative ways of issuing health care services, and revised investments within the company.
Format: Student teams were given one week to draft their proposed solutions. A judging panel composed of health care executives and consulting partners evaluated the pitches and challenged the students to consider broader implactions of their proposales. The competition highlighted the diverse strategic paths businesses may pursue in the pursuit of profit, with each team selecting different technologies and strategies. The case closely mirrored real-world health care consulting work.
Awards and Opportunities: In addition to winning cash prizes, the top three winning teams will have the opportunity to present their posters at the Spring 2026 AI Summit! Teams will also receive valuable mentorship opportunities.
The Center for Health and Business Student Leadership and Impact team members Kelley Chen '27 and Adelya Serikkhanova '26 co-led the initiation of this event.

Case Partner
Mariko is an experienced business transformation consultant, with over 20 years of experience in change management, business design and IT strategy in the life sciences industry.
She has worked with organizations in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries to facilitate teams towards strategic goals by focusing on the key factors needed to help people to perform effectively through change. This includes right-sizing the operating model, optimizing processes and systems, infusing agility into the way teams work, upskilling colleagues at all levels and managing the change program effectively.
Judges
Phillip has over 20 years of experience helping organizations—from startups to Fortune 500s—drive growth through innovation, customer experience, and technology. He has worked across healthcare and life sciences and previously spent a decade at Deloitte and Monitor Group/Doblin leading large-scale strategy and transformation initiatives.
Ilana is a healthcare professional with over 15 years of expertise in medical device alliances, product development, and commercial strategy, backed by a legal foundation in life sciences litigation. She has led strategic partnerships, driven inorganic growth initiatives, and earned the Johnson & Johnson Leadership Award for cross-functional excellence during global product recalls.
Dr. Ogunseye is a Bentley Professor with industry experience in software development and IT management, specializing in data strategy, AI governance, and digital transformation. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management and previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at UBC’s Sauder School of Business.
Bob is a senior financial executive with 35 years of global strategic and operating experience across multiple disciplines within the life sciences industry, including cytokines, proteins, peptides, cellometry, precision medicine, digital patient data and sequencing, delivery systems, drug discovery, medical products and pharmaceuticals. Bob has served as CFO for PeproTech, Inc. (now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific), New England Peptides, Nexcelom Biosciences ( now part of Perkin Elmer), Backpack Health (now, part of Konica Minolta Precision Medicine), Cutis Pharma (now, Azurity Pharmaceuticals), Arsenal Medical, 480 Biomedical (now, Lyra Therapeutics), Claritas Genomic (a Boston Children's Hospital spinout), BioNevia Pharmaceuticals, Consortium of Rheumatoid Researchers of North America, (now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific), PatientsLikeMe (now, part of United Health Group) and Biosphere Medical (now, part of Merit Medical). Bob founded Oxus Medical (Oximetry in Cardiac Resynchronization) and Tesa Medical (Orthopedics). Bob earned his MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Professor Wolf is a senior lecturer, primarily in financial/managerial accounting & analysis, principles of fraud investigation, executive education and pre-college program courses. Professional experience throughout career includes: CPA/MBA accounting/finance professional with venture-financed technology company start-up and growth corporate experience, including cash management, financial reporting/analytics and corporate expansion/M&A integration. Audit and tax public accounting experience with Arthur Andersen. Venture Capital experience with CMGI and NorthBridge Venture Partners. Portfolio company experience includes: Certica Solutions, AdmitHub/Mainstay, Authentica, Qvidian and Raptor Systems.
