Being a part of the CHB has taught me invaluable lessons in time management, leadership development, external relations and marketing. Since my first semester as a freshman, my long-term involvement with the CHB has allowed me to refine these skills while progressing within my division of the center.

This class gave me the ability to speak more intelligently about the most prominent issues and trends in health care today, which has allowed me to better define my own career goals and demonstrate my knowledge of these topics in interviews.

Health Industries Major

The health industry is big business. The United States annual health expenditure is trillions of dollars per year and accounts for nearly a fifth of the gross domestic product. Within this expansive sector, there is a pressing need for business professionals who understand the complex interplay between individual and population health, healthcare delivery systems and the appropriate implementation of innovation and technology. Innovation and technological advancements in the health sector are ripe with both opportunity and complexity. Employee health and well-being is a leading factor in the productivity of businesses, and health care costs play a major role in a company's bottom line. Bachelor of Science in Health Industries graduates will emerge as dynamic professionals capable of orchestrating meaningful transformations within the health sector and beyond. The major prepares learners to critically evaluate emerging solutions, apply fundamental principles of health sciences and adapt to the complexity of health systems and structures.

Integrate for Impact Module

Over summer 2023, the CHB team developed a 20 minute interactive online module giving undergraduate learners an introduction to different ways they can "integrate for impact" during their time at Bentley. The goal of the module is to expose learners early in their academic journey to a variety of opportunities for successful and fulfilling journeys at Bentley and beyond. The health industry is utilized as an example of an exciting and growing sector where many of our alumni have used their business degrees from Bentley to great effect.

The module is currently available to all Bentley first year learners in Falcon Discovery Seminar and Career Design Introduction Seminar (CDI 201) learners.

One of the best parts about Bentley is the foundation that it gives you in accounting and finance and how applicable those skills can be to any industry. With the growth and advancements in Boston for biotech, I think now is the best time to get involved in the health industry.
