President Chrite walking into his Inauguration

Thank you

April 7, 2022

Dear Bentley Community,

As I catch my breath from the excitement of the past two days, I wanted to take a moment to thank you on behalf of my family for making my inauguration such a special occasion. My wife Phyllis, three children Elrie, Adriana and Jordan, and other family members were so glad to be on campus and remarked how welcoming and generous this community has been. The ceremonies have left me exceptionally grateful to be your president and have reaffirmed what I have known since coming to campus last summer: Bentley University is truly a remarkable place.

I was honored to see so many students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends come together to celebrate this important moment in the history of our university. I’ve deeply enjoyed getting to know this community over the past 10 months, and yesterday’s inauguration felt like another special opportunity for me to see this extraordinary community in action. Those who know me know I’m not one who enjoys the spotlight or being the center of attention. While the day was special for me, more importantly, it was special for us. It was special for Bentley. Because inauguration is not only a formal recognition of my presidency, it symbolizes that together, we are moving ahead to the promise of a new chapter for this university we all love.

As I shared in my remarks at inauguration yesterday, I believe strongly in what we do here. Our mission and core values are why I am here today. Educating the next generation of learners and leaders in a powerful, accessible and meaningful way has been the focus of my career. That’s what brought me to Bentley, and that’s what continues to inspire me on a daily basis. You continue to inspire me. Every student, faculty and staff member whom I meet reminds me why I am here. Because like you, I believe that the future of business is good business, and I’m excited about continuing to share that vision — Bentley’s vision — with the world.

I’ll have more to share about our university’s future and next steps soon. But for now, I want to thank you again for making yesterday’s inauguration such a memorable and moving moment in my professional and personal life. I’m continuously honored to be your president, every day.

Most Sincerely,

President Chrite
